ERP systems in Russia. Russian ERP systems market

Introduction

ERP-systems, designed to identify and plan all the resources of the enterprise necessary for the implementation of manufacturing purchases, are becoming increasingly important for management.

The complication of management processes, the increase in the number of factors for decision-making, the requirements of competition are the reasons for using ERP in business. Influential corporations, as well as medium (and in the West, small) businesses can no longer do without the introduction of such systems. This is confirmed by the fact that over the past few years the ERP market has grown by several hundred percent, and growth, according to analysts' forecasts, will continue.

To make the right decision about choosing an ERP system, it is useful to know the situation on the market, the main players, the products they provide, which is what this work is devoted to.

Russian market of ERP systems

In Russia, there are the following number of restrictions for the development of this market:

instability of the legislative framework;

immaturity of business relations;

lack of modern management practice among managers of most Russian enterprises, leading to various misconceptions (for example, exaggeration of the role of the IT department of an enterprise in the implementation of an ERP system, underestimation of the cost of owning an ERP system, etc.), etc.

Of course, the Russian enterprise management software market is not yet comparable in size to the global market (especially its Western European and American segments). According to IDC, the size of the Russian enterprise management software market is $40 million or more.

The ERP systems market is developing very rapidly, even when compared with the IT market as a whole.

It should be noted that the market is growing unevenly in different regions of Russia. Siberia shows the highest rates.

If we evaluate how developed the ERP market in Siberia, then its volume is, according to various sources, from 8% to 12% of the Russian one. It is very difficult to divide the market by regions due to the predominance of large territorially distributed holdings in the country's economy.

The interest of Russian enterprises in ERP systems has grown significantly over the past 2-3 years. Favorable factors for the revival of demand are both a noticeable rise in the Russian economy (in most industries) and the understanding by the management of enterprises that without the use of modern management automation tools, an enterprise simply cannot stay on the modern highly competitive Russian market (not to mention the world market). Growth in production and services, sales, increased competition requires Russian enterprises to invest heavily in optimizing their management. Of course, it should be noted that not all Russian enterprises have solved their post-crisis problems, so now the issues of repaying debts, modernizing production, developing the range of products and creating new distribution channels are more relevant for them. Some enterprises (the most successful) have already implemented (are implementing) this or that MRP/MRPII/ERP system, others are in search of the most suitable system for themselves, and still others are just studying the very possibility of implementing an ERP system within the next few years.

The leaders in terms of sales in terms of money were SAP, Oracle and Microsoft. If SAP occupied 40.6% of the market, then Oracle and Microsoft - 22.8% and 10.9% respectively. Such significant differences are explained by different market niches occupied by the above companies. If SAP and Oracle specialize in the market of "heavy" solutions, then Microsoft is actively promoting its systems in small and medium-sized businesses. At the same time, a domestic company is becoming a leader in terms of the number of licenses sold "1C", but in terms of sales in monetary terms, its share in 2004 was only 4.6%.

The current state of the Russian enterprise management software market is characterized by the following main features:

a large number of enterprises with legacy systems on obsolete platforms, often developed independently (by enterprise automated control services) and not maintained;

the presence on the market of both a number of well-known Western ERP systems and software from Russian developers;

if earlier the market was dominated mainly by accounting software, now there is a gradual transition to automation systems for discrete and process production.

acute shortage of qualified IT staff;

market fragmentation.

The following main segments of the Russian enterprise management software market can be singled out: software for large enterprises with an estimated cost of delivery from $200,000-$300,000; Software for medium enterprises with an estimated cost of delivery from $10,000 to $200,000; Software for small businesses with delivery costs up to $10,000.

Currently, the Russian market has systems from about 20 Western companies, as well as several dozen Russian companies: SAP R/3, Baan, Oracle Applications, SyteLine, iRenaissance.ERP, MFG/PRO, MAX, ACCPAC/2000, BPCS, ICL- KPO VS, IFS, PRMS, Axapta, XAL, Exact, Platinum, Solagem, SunSystems, Scala, LS LIPro, Alfa, Akkord, NS2000, BOSS-Corporation, Galaxy, Parus-Corporation, BEST-PRO, M-2, AS+ , Flagship, Monopoly, Standard, 1C, Resource, Everest, Monolith; Compass etc.

The Russian market can be called one of the fastest growing and promising. According to estimates by various analytical companies, in particular IDC, the annual increase is from twenty-five to thirty percent, and this is impressive. So the main trend is that the market will continue to grow, at least for five to seven years.

On the other hand, this market is already quite competitive; for a long time, the world's most famous and well-established vendors have worked on it. And the third trend is that Russia reflects the global trends of the ERP market, namely, the consolidation of players. This is due both to companies that represent the upper segment and companies that represent the middle segment. On the one hand, for potential customers, this is somewhat good, oddly enough, because, it would seem, the choice for them is narrowing. But this is good because only powerful and large companies with a huge turnover are able to invest enough money in the development, continuous development, improvement and effective support of their product. Therefore, if we talk about the main three trends, then this fast growth, market consolidation and its competitiveness.

The main participants of the world market of ERP-systems

According to industry analysts, there are currently several hundred ERP systems on the world market that have gained some popularity. The undisputed market leaders are SAP AG, Oracle, PeopleSoft, J.D. Edwards and Geac Computer. According to Advanced Manufacturing Research, in 2012 they accounted for 67% of the total market for ERP systems. The leading position is still occupied by SAP AG, whose share is 34%. At the same time, European firms account for up to 45% of the world market. At the same time, despite such a significant gap from the leaders, other companies that produce ERP systems (especially newcomers) believe that they have a significant advantage over the top five companies due to the flexibility of their response to customer needs and the rapid implementation of modern technologies into their products. technologies (in particular, Web technologies). A prominent place in the global market for ERP systems is also occupied by the following companies: Baan (as a division of Invensys); Epicor Software; Exact Software; IFS; Kewill Systems plc; Navision a/s; QAD; Ross Systems; Sage Group; scala; SCT; Symix Systems; Systems Union and a number of others. Let's take a closer look at some of the most famous participants in the global market.

The price of the system can range from $1,500 to $5,000 per workstation. At the same time, the most expensive systems, for example, SAP R / 3, have a clear excess of the required level of functionality, that is, you have to pay for functionality that, most likely, is useful, but will not be in demand by many companies related to the middle market. Systems that cost an average of $2,000 per seat, such as Microsoft's Navision Axapta, often have optimal functionality and useful functionality increases from version to version, while the price of the product remains virtually the same.

SAP AG is the world's fourth largest software development company, founded in 1972. Today, it employs about 21,700 employees in more than 50 countries. SAP AG has more than 900 partners, more than 13,000 client companies and about 10 million licensed users in 100 countries.

Russian market of ERP systems and products

Today, the Russian market for ERP systems is actively developing and growing. This happens for several reasons: ERP-systems really work, the leaders of large corporations want to see their business "transparent", in Russia there is an increase in business activity.

Looking at the sectoral structure of ERP demand, we will see that 15% - the largest number of implementations are construction companies, followed by trade - 12%, mechanical engineering - 10%, manufacturing - 10%, food industry - 9%.

The value of the maturity index of the ERP market was 55%. The lowest result was 20%, and the highest - 95%. Only 38% of companies showed the level of penetration and efficiency indexes above the average values. 62% of businesses should take steps to optimize business applications.

Modern ERP solutions for the Russian market

The table below shows the main ERP systems and their products on the domestic market of Russian and Western systems.

Table 2. Russian and Western ERP systems presented on the domestic market.

Product name

Company manufacturer

Short description

SAP AGwww.sap.com

SAP is the undisputed leader in terms of sales of this class of software in Russia. The company holds about 40% of the entire Russian market of ERP systems. The R/3 system belongs to the class of large integrated systems and includes modules that significantly expand the scope of the traditional ERP system. The cost of a solution for 50 workstations is approximately $350 thousand. The cost of implementation is at least equal to the cost of licenses, and most often several times higher. The implementation period depends on the required functionality. We can say that for Russian enterprises it averages a year or two. One of the most full-scale projects for the implementation of the R/3 system was carried out at the Omsk Oil Refinery.

Oracle Applications

Oraclewww.oracle.ru

Oracle's position in Russia is significantly weaker than that of its main competitor. However, in the world in the Top 100 ranking of Manufacturing Systems magazine for 2000, Oracle Applications bypassed R / 3 in terms of financial indicators and took first place. The lag in Russia can be partly explained by the fact that this solution entered the domestic market much later. The cost of a solution based on Oracle Applications is slightly lower than on the basis of R / 3 (specific figures were not given in the open press). Implementation times for Oracle Applications and R/3 are roughly the same1. Of the most well-known projects for the implementation of Oracle Applications, one can note the one implemented at the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works.

Another of the Western ERP systems present on the Russian market. The system class is the same as the previous two. The cost of a named license (for one specific user) is $3000, the cost of a competitive license (regardless of the number of employees indicates only restrictions on simultaneous connection to the database) is $6000. Implementation in Russia is 1-3 times more expensive than the cost of licenses. Implementation example - "Nizhpharm". Unfortunately, an outdated version of the system is currently being actively promoted in Russia, despite the fact that the iBaanERP version has appeared a long time ago.

ROSS Systemswww.rossinc.com

ERP-class system for enterprises with a process (continuous) type of production. Fully localized, successfully implemented in Russia since 1998. In the world - 3500 completed implementations, there are implementations in Russia (Mary Kay, Alcoa CSI Vostok, etc.). Low cost and implementation time.*

SYMIXwww.frontstep.ru

This system belongs to the class of medium integrated systems. It has quite a lot of implementations at Russian food industry enterprises. Among them is the Voronezh confectionery factory.

Damgaard Data www.damgaard.ru

An ERP-class system designed to automate medium and large industrial and commercial enterprises. This is the first ERP-system, fully oriented to work on the Internet. An example of the implementation of the system is the holding "RUSSO (Russian shirts)". The total number of installed jobs is 30. The cost of implementation can be approximately several hundred thousand dollars.

ERP-system for large and medium-sized enterprises with a discrete type of production. 5200 completed implementations in the world, 8 - in Russia. Fully localized. According to various experts, the system is one of the strongest solutions for discrete industries (mechanical engineering, light industry, automotive, electronics, etc.).*

Parus Corporation www.parus.ru

Belongs to the class of financial management systems. From the point of view of production, it has the ability to account and the simplest planning. Traditionally, the position of the corporation in budgetary organizations is very strong.

"Galaxy"

Corporation "Galaktika"www.galaktika.ru

This system is the leader among Russian enterprise management systems. According to some estimates, its share is about 40% of all Russian suppliers. In terms of sales, the system is second only to R / 3. The implementation period depends heavily on the chosen functionality and the scale of the enterprise. For example, the introduction of 100 jobs at JSC "Russian Product" took about a year and a half.

"BOSS-Corporation"

Company "IT" www.it.ru

The integration of accounting functions with the production system will allow this product to accelerate the transition to the class of medium-sized integrated systems. Among the most successful projects is the project to create a financial management system at the Krasnoyarsk aluminum plant.

"1C: Production"

Company 1Сwww.1c.ru

Although the products of the 1C company belong to the class of local systems, this player cannot be ignored. In its class, 1C occupies a leading position, far ahead of its competitors. As part of the 1C products, there is also the "1C: Production" system, which allows to solve the problems of production accounting and planning to a certain extent.

The analytical center of TAdviser has made a rating of ERP systems 2017. The alignment of forces in the Russian market of enterprise management systems has not changed over the year. In terms of the number of implemented projects, 1C:ERP holds the undisputed leadership in the market (and even increases its lead over competitors), SAP still occupies the first place in terms of the amount of funds raised. Import substitution remains the main trend of the market, the trend of transition to the clouds is gaining momentum. And now about everything in order.

Rating of ERP systems 2017 by the number of implementations

According to most experts, the number of implementations is the most objective criterion for assessing the demand for ERP. According to this indicator, the domestic system for automating the activities of an enterprise from the 1C company remains out of competition. Behind Last year registered 167 new projects implementation of this software product. The market share of ERP systems based on the 1C:Enterprise platform reaches 31% . In second place is Galaktika ERP with a share 7,5% And 3 new projects in a year. Bronze for SAP. The world's most popular ERP system keeps 6% Russian market. Growth per year - 7 projects. Oracle has gone the distance. But Microsoft's solutions are strengthening their positions. MS Dynamics AX takes 5,8% growth market 13 projects per year, MS Dynamics NAV - 5,2% market from 3 new projects. Together, Microsoft's ERP solutions account for 11% of the market.

Rating of ERP vendors by financial indicators

In terms of revenue, 1C is still losing to foreign SAP, although it demonstrates better growth dynamics in financial indicators. Why the company 137 new projects per year is inferior to the vendor with an annual increase of 7 projects? Perhaps, according to objective indicators. SAP has traditionally been chosen by large companies with a large number of automated jobs. In this case, a foreign vendor could benefit from the number of licenses sold. But, judging by, 1C sells more licenses and automates more jobs. So, probably, the high financial performance of SAP is provided due to the high cost of the software product itself, client licenses, implementation and maintenance services.

For the period from 2005 to 2017, the largest number of implementations of ERP systems was noted in the field of trade ( 15,9% of the total number of projects). Also, integrated control systems are in high demand in the segments of mechanical engineering, construction, food, chemical industry, healthcare and financial services.

Regional distribution of ERP systems 2017

As for the geographical distribution of ERP projects in Russia, the most "automated" today are the Central ( 42,3% ) and Northwestern ( 17% ) county. At the same time, the most industrial region - the Urals - with 9,5% occupies only 5th place.

The main trends in the market of enterprise management systems

The main trend of the domestic ERP market in 2016-2017 is import substitution. For political and economic reasons, the number of 1C:ERP implementations in large state and commercial companies has noticeably increased. Holdings are actively migrating to 1C:ERP from already implemented software products, and also choose a domestic solution for the implementation of new projects.

The 1C company occupied almost a third of the Russian ERP market, being the only major supplier to increase its share in 2011.

The volume of the Russian market of ERP-systems (integrated enterprise management systems in IDC terminology) in 2011 amounted to $927.05 million, which is 42.8% more than the results of 2010 ($649.4 million).

The growth rate has also picked up. In 2010 volume increased by 31.9% compared to 2009

According to IDC, market growth in 2011 was driven by significant demand for business applications from small and medium businesses. Significantly increased demand from budgetary organizations, as well as companies in the banking sector. Significant investments in ERP systems were made by companies in the oil and gas sector and retail trade.

The leader of the Russian market of ERP systems in 2012 remained the German company SAP, whose share was 47.8% (in 2011 - 50.5%). Significantly increased its share of the Russian "1C", taking second place with a market share of 31.6% (in 2011, the company owned 26% of the market). Places from third to fifth were occupied by Oracle (7.5%), Microsoft (6.9%) and Galaxy (1.8%).

Shares of Oracle, Microsoft and Galaktika in 2012 were reduced - in 2011 they occupied 8.2%, 7.4% and 2.4% of the market respectively.

The leading industry for the Russian market of integrated enterprise management systems in 2012 was continuous production. Second place, as in the previous year, was for retail trade. In third place in the list of the most profitable industries for suppliers of ERP-systems remained discrete production. The banking sector moved to the fourth position, to the fifth - professional services.

Figure 8. Shares of ERP system suppliers in the Russian market, %

Analysts at IDC believe that the Russian market for ERP systems in the next 5 years will grow by an average of 17.8% annually. Growth will be driven by strong demand for business applications from banking, retail and government organizations.

Let's add that compared to last year's forecast, the value of the expected growth has increased. In 2011, IDC analysts reported that over the next 5 years, the average annual growth will be 15.5%.

      1. Overview of erp systems as SaaS services

Over the past few years, the main manufacturers of ERP-systems have been moving steadily towards cloud computing, and, according to a number of forecasts, in 2013 this trend will be the most developed. According to Frank Scavo, CEO of enterprise IT strategy firm Strativa, some large companies are already trying to move their software, including ERP, to public cloud platforms on their own. "Internet stuff" analyzed what ERP products are currently available on the market in the form of SaaS.

At the end of 2010, the Panorama IT agency surveyed international companies that have implemented cloud and online ERP options regarding their choice of an ERP solution provider. As in 2009, SAP was again in first place with 38%, followed by Oracle with 32% and Microsoft with 24%. NetSuite closes this leaderboard with 8%. Therefore, today we will take a look at these world's leading cloud ERP solution providers, focusing on their latest innovations, and since this market is very dynamic, we will also touch on their plans for the near future.

Microsoft Dynamics NAV

Released at the end of 2010 a new version Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2, which includes the following new features:

 full integration with Microsoft Dynamics CRM;

 remote connection to the database via the Internet, including through channels mobile communications;

 support for virtualization of App-V applications (which now, among other things, allows you to create a "private cloud");

 tight integration with Windows 7;

 visualization of business data and processes;

Here it is worth dwelling on the dynamics of the development of this well-known ERP system, since, most likely, this is its last version in its already familiar form. Michael Park, Vice President of Microsoft Business Solutions, recently spoke about the future of Dynamics NAV, which will soon be part of BPOS (Business Productivity Online Services, a service that now includes MS Exchange Online, MS SharePoint Online, MS Office Communications Online and Office Live Meeting). The top manager said that in the near future Microsoft is going to add Dynamics CRM and Dynamics ERP systems to this common package, so these systems will cease to exist separately. Let's try to understand MS Dynamics ERP that Michael Park mentions. The fact is that now Microsoft really has 4 different ERP systems, these are: Dynamics AX (Axapta), Nav (Navision), GP (Great Plains) and SL (Solomon). All these systems were bought by Microsoft in different periods of time and the company still, despite all the preparatory work, has not been able to combine them into one. So, according to Michael, in the near future the merger of these four ERP systems will still be completed, resulting in an explosive growth in the capabilities of the resulting system.

NetSuite

NetSuite is one of the world's leading SaaS ERP/CRM companies that started its business back in 1998 (then the company was called NetLedger). The company immediately began its work as an ERP provider for small and medium-sized businesses, when this niche was still completely exotic. And only after 10 years of "work in debt" NetSuite became profitable. According to the report for the critical 2008 fiscal year, the company's net income amounted to 534 thousand dollars (while, according to the results of 2007, the company still suffered losses of $842 thousand). At the moment, it is not only one of the most experienced players in the ERP market, but also a highly profitable innovative company. The advanced social capabilities of any collaborative work systems today have already become the leading leitmotif of many modern solutions, so Netsuite has set itself the task of becoming a pioneer in the Social ERP niche. Netsuite has partnered with InsideView to create a new kind of social ERP. As an example of NetSuite's new capabilities, it is possible to note the possibility of built-in monitoring of the financial condition of suppliers-clients, which is now implemented in it, which will allow you to track all risks in advance and integrate a new level of control over the situation. So, thanks to the social technology InsideView, Netsuite will be able to monitor information about its customers and give a clear picture to purchasing and sales managers.

I would like to separately note the important NetSuite - this is the availability of a ready-made integration solution SuiteCloud Connect for the possibility of migration, integration or system expansion through third-party ERP systems. So, for example, a ready-made system from NetSuite - OneWorld for Oracle - allows departments of large corporations to take advantage of "cloud computing", saving investments in corporate ERP systems, based on SuiteCloud Connect, transparently linking heterogeneous ERP systems into one whole (there are similar options for interfacing with popular cloud platforms - Salesforce, SAP, Google). Summing up the review of NetSuite, I would like to recall its official representatives in Russia: IGate, Systematic Software Solutions and A-Tek, which supply and maintain all three modules of this popular cloud ERP system (CRM, ERP and e-commerce).

Oracle E-Business Suite

Oracle E-Business Suite is currently the only fully integrated suite of e-business applications running on a cloud platform. A clear global trend towards integrating all ERP-related tasks into one common solution was also observed in the previously reviewed NetSuite and Microsoft Dynamics NAV, but in the Oracle E-Business Suite the level of integration reaches a fundamentally new level, here is a general list of the extensive features of this system:

 enterprise performance management based on a system of corporate indicators;

 business process modeling

 budgeting and consolidation;

 general accounting and reporting;

 production management;

 inventory and supply chain management;

 personnel management;

 quality management;

 sales management;

 warehouse accounting;

 client accounting and support;

Oracle E-Business Suite, like its analogues, also includes the implementation of three related areas at once - ERP, CRM, PLM subsystems.

SAP Business ByDesign

Literally only at the end of 2010, SAP officially began mass sales of its SaaS ERP system SAP Business ByDesign again, which is designed to compete with NetSuite and other cloud ERP solutions. Like the Oracle SAP Business ByDesign described above, it is a single service for automating all areas of the company's activities at once, including: production, finance and sales. The system works remotely in SAP data centers, however, if customers want to deploy online applications on their servers, then Business ByDesign can be sold as a regular standalone application. As you know, earlier the SAP platform had very serious problems with scalability, and now, as SAP experts assure, they were solved, and from the beginning of 2011 SAP begins official sales and attracting new customers. SAP Business ByDesign is currently sold in three editions - CRM, ERP and PSP (Professional Service Provider). Each edition is designed for a minimum of 10 users and includes the required paid service implementations at a fixed price. In particular, the ERP edition, which is of particular interest to us, is designed for production and financial management, and also includes a powerful business intelligence system. Its implementation costs $37,500 and takes 6 weeks. Next, you need to pay $149 for connecting each new user per month.

Unlike ERP systems, in which the formalization of processes is built on the basis of a standard (recommendations of the APICS association), the new proposed modules do not have any basis agreed between developers.
